It is a rainy day as I sit in my sunroom listening to beautiful music. It slows me down and makes me listen. There is beauty even in the rain.
I am praying for my daughter now, she is in the air over the ocean on her way back from her mission trip. I pray for her safety.
The music I am listening to is from the Our Daily Bread series. It is a beautiful arrangement of When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Here are the words, let them be my prayer and yours too.
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride
Forbid it Lord that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ my Lord
All the vain things that charmed me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
See, from his hands, his head, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were a present far too small
Love so amazing so divine
Demands my soul,
my life,
my all.
