Bible Verses for the Year

Participating in the scripture memory challenge has been a wonderful thing for me. I can't believe that I started this almost a year ago. One of the things I did along the way was to make a Keynote presentation of my verses that I used as a screen saver on my office computer. I have turned that into a little movie that I would like to share with my family and friends. I hope you enjoy. I would challenge you to join me as I continue to learn new verses are the 1st and 15th of every month.

Siesta Memory Challenge - December 15

It is time again for a new verse. This verse will be the last verse of this year long of memorizing verses. Since it is also the end of the semester, I choose this very familiar verse as a way of praying for my students.

Philippians 1: 3-6
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.



Here are my previous verses. I can't believe that I can actually say these verses. I had really thought that I had lost the ability to memorize things like I used to. At least I can memorize scripture. I know that it is only with the Lord's help.

Siesta Memory Challenge - December 1

I selected this verse because I believe I need to learn to be content. I need to let go of worry and also let go of making sure everything goes OK. I need to learn to be content at work when things get a little hard like they are now. I need to learn to depend on the strength that comes from Christ and not my own strength.

Philippians 4: 11-13
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
